You may want to go the City Development Office and meet with a zoning planner in order to get a good idea of how a certain property can be used. There is no charge for the visit. Roselind

| Find out how a property in the City of Austin is zoned. |
| Go to the City of Austin Development Website. |
| Under Geographic Information, click on: map (GIS) Viewer |
| Click "Acknowledge" on the Viewer Disclaimer Page. |
| On the left column under "Viewer Tools" click: Address |
| Enter the address of the property. |
| (A location map will open showing the property.) |
| On left column under "Development Tools" click: Zoning Map |
| (A zoning map will open showing the property zoning.) |
| Find out what the zoning designations mean. |

| Your insurance agent will be able to tell you whether your house is in a floodplain. |
| You may look up your property on the City Floodplain Map. Here you will type in your address and a floodmap will open. |
