Austin's Art and Culture.

You will enjoy these traditional art and cultural venues in Austin. The artistic side of Austin is growing. We have more art galeries and performance studios than ever. Many of these are on Austin's historic east side.

Austin Symphony Orchestra - The orchestra performs a variety of classical, pops and special concerts, plus many free concerts throughout the year for the community.

Austin Lyric Opera - They offer wonderful performances and provide musical training for children.

Ballet Austin - Ballet Austin enriches the community through excellent and innovative dance.

Zachary Scott Theater - Central Texas' oldest professional theater offers innovative performances throughout the year.

The Performing Arts Center at The University of Texas - This venue adds to the cultural life of Austin, bringing Broadway plays, music, dance and special events.

East Austin Studio Tour - is an artist created and artist run initiative in East Austin.

Arts Center Stage - was founded in 1997 with a mission of creating a home for Austin's performing arts organizations. They have a great calendar for upcoming music, theater, art and dance events.

Austin Home Tours - Visit our page on upcoming home tours in Austin. A fun way to visit some special homes in Austin.

Valued visitors,

Austin enjoys a vibrant cultural scene. With an educated and eclectic population, you will find a great variety of art, music, theater and artistic expression of all kinds.

You don't have to dress up to go out, unless you want to. Austin's more of a creative place than a formal place.

Where else do you have bumper stickers saying, "Keep Austin Weird?" This began as a misprint of a sticker meant to say, "Keep Austin Wired". But, "Keep Austin Weird" resonated with Austinites, and says a lot about who we are.
